Oh hey, two alternate 1 story ranch house floorplanish plans for ta hypothetical arizona house. Hopefully not jibberish to everyone. Also included some diagrams on the side.
The main idea is to separate a largish public space with a tall fireplace/utility feature backed with either a kitchen or small court. The court, either indoor or outdoor, has a water feature to help provide cooling to the house (ref. some middle eastern domestic architecture) and, unlike the frontal court, is surrounded by private or semi-private rooms (studies, bedrooms, kitchen.)
